About Father Mark...
In February 2015, the Reverend Canon Mark A. Scheneman was called to a part-time ministry in retirement as Priest-in-Charge of Bangor Church. Prior to coming to Bangor, he was rector at St. John's Episcopal Church in Carlisle, Pennsylvania for 28 years.
Father Mark is a graduate of Moravian College and holds Masters degrees from the General Theological Seminary and Temple University. His Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Ministry was granted by the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He loves to travel and has led pilgrimages to Israel, Germany, Italy, Scotland, Ireland and England. He also serves on the faculty of the Stevenson Diocesan School for Ministry, teaching courses in history and Celtic Spirituality. Among his many hobbies are colonial history and reenacting, cycling and bagpiping.
Mark and his wife, Dottie, have three adult children - Katherine married to Jeff, Elisabeth, and Peter married to Mary, and two grandchildren - Michael and Mary.
